First positive feedback
One ought to treasure these things. I have received my first positive feedback for Blue Mauritius from a reader not related to me (my father was, in fact, the first person I know to finish the book and enjoy it). Christian le Comte in Mauritius emailed me today.
He writes, ‘I got an advance copy of the book from the publisher and I read it in one day. I really couldn’t stop, the book is indeed very good and full of facts and fascinating characters. Congratulations!’
Merci Christian!

Congratulations on your published book. I can only begin to imagine the amount of research it took to track down something as elusive as a small patch of paper…family genealogy research has been tricky enough for me, so I’d admire your skills and stamina in coming up with enough details and information to fill a book!
Thanks Barb. When I began I thought it would probably be something of the short story length…
Come what may with reviews, I enjoyed getting this feedback from a reader, and received some more feedback subsequently over the weekend from a reader in the Netherlands, who said it kept him from the streets for a day or two, and that I had a refreshing approach!
wow – one night! That is amazing. Maybe he cheated a bit. did you send him 20 questions to make sure he read the whole thing? :)
No, but you know what you’re going to get now don’t you. Twenty questions plus, which will definitely encompass the 95 pages of end matter. (e.g. What, apart from the item on p.11, were my favourite imports into Mauritius in 1847?) I have great expectations of you now Russ!
