When does a stamp lover become a stamp?
A little snippet from The Stamp Lover, vol.1, no.1, June 1908, p.23.
Years ago I remember a newspaper paragraph stating that a gentleman got so keen on specialising the stamps of Peru that in time his “mania” (so the paper said) led him to the delusion that he himself was actually a Peruvian stamp. Our Editor has been so much mixed up with stamp matters lately that a similar idea has evidently entered the mind of one of his correspondents that he is indeed a STAMP. I am going to keep the original cover of the letter, which was addressed:–
Mr. STAMP,
14 Sudbourne Road,
Brixton, S.W.He may be a unique specimen, he says, but he is not a stamp worth fortunes.

After I read this I was inspired to start reading your book. Last night I read the first 2 chapters and really enjoyed it. I’m looking forward to the rest. That as you know is a big deal for me!!
Whatever it takes Genevieve! I came across many humorous and fascinating things on my trawl through the stamps magazines, and if I thought people would enjoy them, I’d keep posting them. Good to have your feedback!
